About the Camden Haven Bridge Club
1. Location
The Club is located at the Laurieton United Servicemen's Club (LUSC) which is located at the corner of Lake and Seymour Sts., Laurieton, NSW.
The Bridge Club is a nominal "Sports Club" which is affiliated with the LUSC. To become a member, it is also required that one is already a member of, or joins, the LUSC.
Bridge is played in a very comfortable, spacious and air-conditioned room.
Annual Membership for the LUSC and the Bridge Club are quite modest and include the affiliation fee payable to the Aust. Bridge Federation for each member.
Associate Membership is also available for those members whose "home club" is another ABF registered club.
A Table Fee of only $3.00 is payable by members at each session. Visitors are charged $5.00. This must be the cheapest day's entertainment available. In addition, this covers a free bottomless cup of tea and/or coffee with biscuits.
3. Latest Technology
Our Club is committed to using the latest technology to enhance the enjoyment of Bridge by its members. As a result, we have purchased a laptop computer and the best scoring system available, ScoreBridge. Results are e-mailed to every player who has registered an e-mail address with the Club. Results Files, in HTML format, are also posted on this Web-Site.
We have also purchased a Dealing Machine which allows us to post the Deal Files, which are in .PBN format, on this Web-Site. These files allow participants to replay any difficult or interesting hands in Bridge Software such as Jack and Bridge Baron.
The BridgeMate electronic scoring technology which was recently acquired allows the results to be published immediately after the last Board is played.
